Charlie Murphy Loses Wife of 12 Years to Cancer
By Alicia Cruz The black Urban Times Tisha Taylor Murphy, the wife of comedian and actor Charlie Murphy (brother of comedian Eddie Murphy) succumbed after a two-year battle with Cancer. Mrs. Murphy passed away peacefully on Sunday in their New Jersey home with family at her bedside. Murphy's publicist, Lyndsey Jacobs released this statement concerning Mrs. Murphy's death:" The Murphy Family appreciates all of the support they have received from friends and fans and requests privacy during this very difficult time." Charles Quinton "Charlie" Murphy is the older brother of comedian Eddie Murphy. His comedy career began after a stint in the U.S. Navy. Murphy made his silver screen debut in "Harlem Nights" alongside his brother, Eddie. Fans can hear Charlie doing the voice-overs in the animated series "The Boondocks."
