Legendary Evangelist Oral Roberts Dead at 91
Famous television evangelist and founder of the Oral Roberts University has died of complications associated with pnuemonia in Newport Beach, California today. Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Roberts. In June 1982, his son was found shot to death in his car in a rural area of Tulsa. PRESS RELEASE: Dr. Oral Roberts, a legendary evangelist who rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most influential Christian leaders of the 20th century, died today in Newport Beach, Calif., due to complications from pneumonia. His son, Richard, and daughter, Roberta, were at his side. The founder of Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association and Oral Roberts University was 91. There will be a private family internment.
