Former "Dreamgirl" Actress Alaina Reed Dead at 63

Actress Alaina Reed Hall Amini , the easy going neighbor with the singing voice of an angel on the popular 80s NBC sitcom "227" died on December 17 in Los Angeles after a long, brave battle with breast cancer. Alaina Reed Hall Amini (Nee Bernice Ruth Reed), was born in Springfield, Ohio and was likely best known for her early acting days as "Olivia" (the picture lady) or "Gordon's" little sister from Sesame Street . In later years, she was cast on the NBC sitcom "227" as "Rose" opposite Marla Reed (Florence from the Jefferson's), Regina King and Jackée Harry (Sister, Sister). Reed Hall Amini's light shined brightly on Broadway in such hits as "Hair" and "Chicago" which showcased her singing talent and she replaced Jennifer Holiday as "Effi" in Michael Bennet’s workshop production of Dreamgirls. ...
