Putting a Face to the Name: PFC. Chante Domenique Pleydle
By all accounts, Private First Class Chante Domenique Pleydle was a bright young woman, loved by friends and family for her awesome smile and big heart. Many lives were dimmed the night of July 30, 2010: the night Pleydle, 23, was killed in a car accident in Jacksonville, North Carolina. After graduating from Temple University (Philadelphia) in 2009, Pleydle enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in January 2010. She successfully completed basic training at the MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina in May 2010 and moved on to Marine Combat Service Support School at Camp Johnson in July 2010. At approximately 10:00 p.m., Medoza's 1999 Toyota Camry ran a red light at Western Blvd and Gum Branch Road. A 2005 Dodge Ram T-boned Mendoza’s Camry in the passenger side door.
