Putting a Face to the Name: PFC. Chante Domenique Pleydle

Image
By all accounts, Private First Class Chante Domenique Pleydle was a bright young woman, loved by friends and family for her awesome smile and big heart. Many lives were dimmed the night of July 30, 2010: the night Pleydle, 23, was killed in a car accident in Jacksonville, North Carolina. After graduating from Temple University (Philadelphia) in 2009, Pleydle enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in January 2010. She successfully completed basic training at the MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina in May 2010 and moved on to Marine Combat Service Support School at Camp Johnson in July 2010. Pleydle/MySpace.com In July 2010, after an evening of pool at a local sports bar, Pleydle caught a ride home with Sergeant Tomas Mendoza, her former instructor. At approximately 10:00 p.m., Medoza's 1999 Toyota Camry ran a red light at Western Blvd and Gum Branch Road. A 2005 Dodge Ram T-boned Mendoza’s Camry in the passenger side door. PFC Pleydle died at the scene. She was 23 days a...

Let me start by saying that I want to apologize to my family, friends and all my twitter followers who were the first to witness the drama. Every decision that I make - good, bad or indifferent directly affects you and for this I am truly sorry. Although to everyone else, I do not take back the emotions associated with the rant, but I do greatly apologize for the language. Now, here are my thoughts: When I did the REAL WORLD almost 16 years ago, I was new to the industry, young and very naïve. The difference.... MORE
