Wife Killer Kashif Parvaiz Inked $2M Apartment Deal From Elderly Gay Man

Image
By Alicia Cruz The New Jersey Newsroom Not only may Kashif Parvaiz be a two-timing, conniving, conspiring murderer, but according to a New York Post article, he may even be a dirty con-man who talked a disabled elderly gay man into giving him part of a Queens apartment building worth millions of dollars two years ago. The man's step-mother, Marguerite Ragusa, told the New York Post that Martin Ragusa, 74 met Parvaiz when the alleged wife killer was 14-years-old and doing maintenance work on Martin's home at 440 E. 57th St. in Manhattan. The two men became close friends, and while Parvaiz spent nights at Martin's home, the step-mother could not say whether he was having a sexual relationship with Martin. However, the wealthy man reportedly boasted about putting Parvaiz through college, and knew Nazish Noorani as well. Members of Noorani's family said Parvaiz lied about his college background, and other things, the New Jersey Newsroom reported . Marguerite said Martin ...

Atlantic Ocean: Milwaukee Deep in the Puerto Rico Trench

Image
Source: http://go.hrw.com  I've always been fascinated about the ocean. Truthfully, I stopped getting my thighs wet in the Atlantic Ocean (no, I never actually swam in it) at a young age. All it took was a trip to a cinema in Manhattan to see "Jaws" and I decided, then and there, to never go back in the ocean again. Of course, this fear did little to affect my overall love for the ocean (I just love looking at it versus swimming in it) or my curiosity about it. According to wikipedia.com, the Atlantic Ocean is the second-largest body of water at 41,100,000 square miles, and covering about twenty-percent of the Earth's surface. This body of water is in an S-shaped form that extends between the Americas to the west, and Eurasia and Africa to the east. Experts say they believe the ocean is a flat surface with "occasional deeps, abyssal plains, trenches, sea mounts, basins, plateaus, canyons, and some guyots." There are hundreds of shelves along those height...

Senseless Decision of CCW Carrier Leads to Conviction in Death of Rosetia Smith

Image
Alicia Cruz Yahoo News Contributor Laquintta Turk, 23, did not know Rosetia Smith. The two women lived in the same city, but never exchanged glances let alone words until the night of Smith's senseless death as she sat in her car with her three children in tow. The senseless crime was featured on "The First 48." The night of July 23, 2009, Smith was visiting the apartment of friend Tiffany Allen. Allen was having problems with another woman, Lashan Catlin, who was upset that Allen's sister gave birth to the child of Catlin's former boyfriend. Allen and Catlin squabbled via cell phone and that night, Catlin took Allen up on her offer to meet and argue in person on the baby-momma drama. Smith decided to leave, and as she drove out of the apartment complex, she ran into Catlin, who brought along three friends. As the two women’s vehicles passed one another, they began exchanging vulgar insults. According to Al.com, the young women parked their cars in a...

Ian Kerner on Casual Sex: Is It Worth It

Image
Ian Kerner, a sexuality counselor and New York Times best-selling author, blogs about sex on Thursdays on The Chart. Read more from him at his website, GoodInBed . To do it, or not to do it: That is the question of casual sex - at least as depicted on film. In both " Friends With Benefits " (currently playing) and the previously released "No Strings Attached," casual sex is anything but casual. It’s carefully weighed, hotly debated, methodically scrutinized and, of course, comically miscalculated. As in most romantic comedies, the casual sex turns out to be quite committed and just a part of falling in love and living happily ever after. In the movies, blind lust and romantic love often intersect seamlessly, but in reality, casual sex is often an emotional dead-end ... READ MORE 43 comments What are "friends with benefits"

...And in 'Weird News'... One of the Casey Anthony Masks...

Image
scored almost $1 million on EBAY this week. The seller peddled the item as the most "frightening mask on the planet," but that did little to stop EBAY user "Prophunter" from paying out of the wazoo for it. The mask, one of six, was used in a parody video and auctioned Wednesday with bidding starting out as low as $25. There's really nothing special about the mask. It simply captures the image millions of Americans saw throughout Casey Anthony's six-week trial: stoic. Read more here

New Jersey Man Scams $650K in Online Luxury Car Buying Scheme

Image
By Alicia Cruz The New Jersey Newsroom On July 20, 2011, an Essex County Grand Jury indicted a New Jersey man on 24 counts of theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception in connection with an online car sale scheme that bilked potential car buyers of more than $500,000. According to a press release, Thomas Miller, of Cedar Grove used the Internet to pose as an automobile wholesaler advertising the sale of luxury vehicles such as Land Rovers, Nissan Muranos, Mercedes Benz, BMWs and Lexus cars. Buyers from California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Canada were told the asking price for the vehicles were $70,000 to $90,000. In some cases, the unwitting buyers would wire a down payment, others would wire the entire sale price, but Miller never produced any of the cars, said Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray. The 23-year-old defendant looted the car buyers of approximately $650,000 before he was caught. Miller used different business names including Premium One Auto...
