I wonder How the Kidd's Fared After Their Acrimonious Divorce Ended?

Image
After reading the allegations the Kidds made against one another during their divorce proceedings, I began to wonder how many other Basketball wives have suffered similar abuse at the hands of their baller star husbands? I'm not saying you can believe everything you read about someones divorce, but then again, who would make up such embarrassing, horrendous stories about a man or woman they once loved and have bore children for? NBA star Jason Kidd's former wife, Joumana filed a lawsuit accusing the athlete of "years of physical abuse" and "serial adultery" that included trysts with everyone from news reporters to strippers to a cheerleader. Joumana Kidd said she found evidence of her former husband's adulterous behavior via a cell phone and that he often tried to amend his dastardly deeds by lavishing her with expensive gifts to include a $585,000 pink diamond ring and a $550,000 diamond pendant. In Jason Kidd's divorce petition, he accused Jouman...

North Bergen Trio Who Abandoned Pal in 8-Degree Cold Arrested

By Victor Epstein, Associated Press A 19-year-old woman who thought she was going to a party was instead driven to a rural wooded area and abandoned in 8-degree weather in a long-planned attack by three friends angry with her over an insurance claim, police said Thursday. The victim was wearing only a dress and one shoe, having lost the other in a struggle as she was dragged from the car, said Lt. Frank Cannella of the North Bergen police. A motorist soon stopped and let the victim use a cell phone but refused to give her a lift. The victim used the phone to call one of the women who abandoned her, Cannella said. She spent more than an hour in the cold before flagging down another motorist, who took her to a hospital, he said. The North Bergen woman, whom police did not identify, may need surgery after suffering frostbite to both feet Jan. 16 in Alpine, a town on the Hudson River about 18 miles north of New York City, Cannella said. Jennifer Brown/The Star-Ledger Eugenia Galdos mourns her son, Sgt. Christian E. Bueno-Galdos, 25, at the family home in Paterson. Bueno-Galdos was killed along with four other soldiers in May 2009 by a mentally disturbed U.S. soldier at a clinic in Baghdad . By Tomas Dinges/The Star-Ledger On Tuesday morning, Eugenia Galdos visited her son’s grave at the Totowa Cemetery to ask for help. When he was alive, Sgt. Christian E. Bueno-Galdos had helped his father attain permanent residency and was doing the same for his mother. But when Bueno-Galdos, 25, was killed along with four other soldiers in May 2009 by a mentally disturbed U.S. soldier at a clinic in Baghdad, his mother’s path to citizenship apparently halted. Months have passed without an official explanation of the delay in processing her immigration papers. The uncertainty has led Galdos, of Paterson, to fear deportation despite recent encouragement from staffers in the office of U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J...

New Bethany Ministries Gets Grant for Transitional Housing

By JD Malone New Bethany Ministries will help six homeless people get off the streets with a $250,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh. The grant, administered through KNBT, makes it possible to rehab a building in Allentown at North Fifth and Linden streets to create a six-bedroom facility complete with common areas and a meeting room for six "chronically" homeless individuals. "We're excited to see (New Bethany) expand into Allentown," Rep. Charlie Dent, R-Lehigh Valley, said. The grant comes from a pool of funds available each year from FHL banks meted out based upon the strength of applications, the viability of proposed projects and need. FHL Bank of Pittsburgh Government Relations Coordinator Bill Miller said New Bethany received the grant from among a very competitive group of applicants. "It's a testament to the quality of the program just to get the funding," Miller said. The FHL grants are part of the bank's earning...

By Alexi Friedman/The Star-Ledger FAIRFIELD -- Authorities said today they don’t have a partial license plate on the vehicle that two suspects fled in after shooting an off-duty Fairfield police officer Saturday night. They also said that the suspects may have been driving a black Dodge Nitro, not a Magnum as originally reported. The injured officer, Gerald Veneziano, 26, remains in critical but stable condition at University Hospital in Newark, Charlotte Smith, Essex County executive assistant prosecutor, said this morning. Veneziano was on his way to work Saturday around 6:15 p.m., when he used his cell phone to call a fellow officer, seeking to run a license plate on the Dodge, outside 300 Fairfield Road, authorities said.
