I wonder How the Kidd's Fared After Their Acrimonious Divorce Ended?
After reading the allegations the Kidds made against one another during their divorce proceedings, I began to wonder how many other Basketball wives have suffered similar abuse at the hands of their baller star husbands?
I'm not saying you can believe everything you read about someones divorce, but then again, who would make up such embarrassing, horrendous stories about a man or woman they once loved and have bore children for?
NBA star Jason Kidd's former wife, Joumana filed a lawsuit accusing the athlete of "years of physical abuse" and "serial adultery" that included trysts with everyone from news reporters to strippers to a cheerleader.
Joumana Kidd said she found evidence of her former husband's adulterous behavior via a cell phone and that he often tried to amend his dastardly deeds by lavishing her with expensive gifts to include a $585,000 pink diamond ring and a $550,000 diamond pendant.
In Jason Kidd's divorce petition, he accused Joumana of being a "controlling and manipulative" wife who was also abusive. In January 2001, Kidd was arrested in Arizona for punching Joumana in the mouth during an argument. He later took an assault plea and was ordered to attend anger management classes.
I never followed the finalization of the Kidd's divorce, but no matter how it turned out, there were likely no winners here. The couple's three children are the biggest losers in one way, but in others, they're fortunate not to have to witness either parent being abused, mistreated or unhappy.
I hope they have at least developed a civil relationship for the sake of their children.
